Where are you from & where do you live?
I'm originally from South Louisiana. Full cajun and born on the bayous. We moved around a bit and ended up in Saraland, Alabama about 6 years ago.
What's your life like (who & what do you love)?
Married. No kids and running towards the dream. I'm one of those awesome people that told Corporate America to shove it. I'm a realist and really... it was sucking the life out of me. I now work from home as a Yoga Instructor, Fruit and Veggie Hustler, and Gangster Gardener. My job is built around helping people grow. Whether it's you or your veggies. And, that's what I love the most.
What business do you own or operate or support?
Green Vibes Yoga & Wellness
Eat More Plants. Do More Yoga.
It's my "umbrella brand" if you will for all the fun things I get to do!
As a Yoga Instructor I offer private and regular classes & workshops held at various locations.
Hustling fruits and veggies with Juice Plus+, I help families add Whole Food Nutrition to their daily diets the easy way- In capsule or gummy form. Think juicing made super simple.
And then as a Gangster Gardener with our Tower Gardens I get to show people how to grow their own food at home! Our aeroponic gardens allow you to grow indoors or outside, it's up to you.
I truly love what I do.
What's your favorite quote (s)?
Feel the fear and do it anyway.
"Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better." —Maya Angelou |
What you've learned from life? (advice that might offer more clarity or make life easier or better for someone else)
Don't be afraid to get to know more about these three things that are a constant in your life.
1. Yourself - really, dig in... you've got you for life.
2. Food - you eat every single day. It kills or heals.
3. Money - how to earn it, how to keep it and grow it!
Real Talk --->No one is coming to save you. This life is 100% your responsibility.
What are your strengths(if your just too humble to say, then think about what other people have told you you're great at or that they love about you)
Being resourceful and making things simple. I've been told I'm good at teaching people new things. I chalk it down to the fact that I've always been in customer service and I work hard to help people understand "the why" - everything from life insurance to yoga. We over complicate so much in life and we're bombarded with information on so many levels. I enjoy bringing clarity by breaking it down and making it simple. Because life IS really simple if we let it be.
What is your dream project (s) or long range goal(s)? (can be personal, community, business, philanthropic)
Getting the Gulf Growing! Here along the Gulf what we eat and our fun way of life catch up to us through our health. I want to help kids learn to make better choices from a young age by putting Tower Gardens in every school and in as many homes as possible. When you're involved in where your food comes from you know more, and when we know more we do better.
What is your dream vacation?
This one is hard. I've always said Bora Bora - mainly because of the huts over water thing. But recently I think it's more of a traveling vacay - 2 weeks. Ireland, Amsterdam, Scotland & the UK. Yep... that'll do.
